La puerta de la cárcel está abierta : La poética de guillermo samperio

This research addresses the study of the poetics of Guillermo Samperio, both in its wider sense, referring to the main features of his works as regards form and contents, and in the sense that these are pervaded by poeticity. With this purpose in mind, we start from the context of hybrid genres fostered by the historical avant-gardes and continued with postmodern epistemology, together with the contributions of fantastic literature within the Hispanic scene. From this theoretical basis, our study covers all the books published by this Mexican writer to date, revealing the two main stages of his career and explaining the most important themes, symbols and characters in his work.
Our goal is to raise awareness of an author with an excellent potential to settle into the canon as a classic of contemporary literature. Given the heterogeneity of his proposal, we opt for a panoramic overview that takes into account both the historical context in which it is set and the rhetorical strategies that predominate in his literary style. As a coda, we will embark on an in-depth discussion of “El fantasma”, a blank text that synthetizes most of Samperio’s contributions.
