Los paisajes del cerebro, comienza su andadura a partir de una pequeña reseña a la vida y obra de Santiago Ramón y Cajal, introduciendo al lector en lo que será un viaje sorprendente por el sistema nervioso central y periférico, en el que las representaciones artísticas de esos paisajes irán desvelando datos científicos relevantes publicados a lo largo de la vida profesional del autor y de sus colaboradores del Instituto Cajal del CSIC y del Departamento de Biología Experimental de la Universidad de Jaén. El libro también pretende que la sociedad tome conciencia de su responsabilidad en el avance del conocimiento y en el desarrollo cultural de los jóvenes para que ningún cerebro se pierda en el mar y ningún talento en la ignorancia.

This book aims to display the artistic content of the nervous tissue in a simple and enjoyable way, and it will also attempt to introduce the reader into the wonderful world ruling us. Artistic Neuroanatomy. The Landscapes of the Mind begins with a brief note on the life and work of scientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal. Then, it will take the reader on an amazing journey through the central and peripheral nervous system. The artistic representations of those landscapes will reveal relevant scientific facts, published alongside the life of the author and his collaborators at the Cajal Institute of the CSIC and the Department of Experimental Biology at the Universidad de Jaén. This book also intends to make society aware of its responsibility in the advancement of knowledge and the cultural development of the youths so that no brain is lost at sea, and no talent in ignorance.
