La sucesión del poder : Una aproximación general desde experiencias de los siglos XX y XXI

por SRIBMAN MITTELMAN, Ariel D.

Libro
ISBN: 9788490125366

An overview of the current political systems suggests that there is a large variety of mechanisms of succession, which are a result to the many and varied existing institutional configurations, or even different solutions to a single institutional configuration. Some succession mechanisms are applied transversally in all the geographic and chronological strata, that is, they are reproduced through many diverse eras and along the widest geographical range, whereas other mechanisms of succession are unique to a single society —or to a small group of societies—.
This research has tried to explore a representative sample of this variety and to take into account current cases of democratic systems and cases of other undemocratic systems that have now disappeared and which provide most valuable information on the meaning of succession, as well as different approaches and perspective for the comparison and understanding of the first ones.
Amongst the democratic systems, this work analyses the cases of presidential, semi presidential and parliamentary republics, as well as parliamentary monarchies. Amongst the non democratic systems, the cases studied here include authoritarian, totalitarian and sultanistic regimes.
