Espondiloartritis y su relación con las fracturas vertebrales y la densidad mineral ósea
Spondyloarthritis are a heterogeneous group of diseases whose primary exponent is ankylosing spondylitis. Osteoporosis is a systemic bone disease characterized by low bone mass density and deterioration of bone microarchitecture, leading to increased fragility and risk of fracture. Osteoporosis is a common complication in spondyloarthritis, resulting more frequently in these patients with bone loss and vertebral fractures. There have been few studies in Caucasian population, so it seemed interesting to analyze, within our clinical practice, the characteristics of our patients with spondyloarthritis, degree of disease activity, the possible involvement of bone mineral density and fracture incidence.
